This was my first major DIY patio project. It all started when I was inspired by all of the debris that was found under the dirt as the rest of the yard was graded and leveled. I found so much flagstone, brick, stone, and pavers that I just couldn’t throw away. So this patio is made out of all of those found materials. It sits right behind the built in grill and under a Chinese Elm tree that provided the perfect amount of shade or sun depending on the season.
The area was marked off 
I had to add rocks and other filler to bring up one side to level quite significantly 
A layer of leveling sand was poured 
The stones were laid and leveled 
Makes a perfect seating area
