Garden Boxes in Pasadena
A Front Yard Vegetable and Herb Raised Bed Garden
This was a little rental house that I had in Pasadena, California. I know, I know,…why would I spend the time and energy beautifying a rental house? The answer is simply that I just cannot help myself. I was in this house for 2 years, and this is one side of the front yard. I had access to some fencing panels that were recently taken down from my last house, so I decided to build this cute little raised bed garden. In addition to the fence panels, I also used scrap wood pulled from a dumpster in the neighborhood in front of a house undergoing renovations.
The first step was laying out boards to help visualize the space 
It had to also look nice from the street since this is a front yard space 
Once the boxes were assembled, I asked some neighbors that were doing construction for some fill dirt 
Then I filled it the rest of the way with store bought soil, and used play sand for the walkway 
I planted a mix of seeds and plants 
Water and grow!
